Tools: Talk to My Calendar
Stuffy Stuff I learned about Notion Calendar
I’m not supposed to be working today (Bad Kim!) but as I was caffeinating myself this morning ☕and mulling over Q2 goals, I found something useful that apparently I can’t even wait one day to share with you.
So, Happy Easter, here’s some stuffy stuff:
What the heck is the point of Notion Calendar?
This is something I’ve always wondered. Why use two calendars when my handy dandy Google calendar does everything I need? (Which is mostly nagging me to do all the things on all my devices.) Duplicating that sounded like a nightmare that I’d rather not have, so I ignored Notion Calendar for the most part.
Since then, Notion has drastically improved its AI capabilities. It now behaves like an IDE and can build all kinds of dashboards, schedules, databases, and calendars (things that took forever before and I avoided like the plague.)
Notion Calendar allows you to layer those on top of your Google Calendar. It’s really handy. Notion also recently introduced agents, including a Calendar agent that will look at your calendar and nudge you, tell you when you’re overbooked, and all kinds of other cool, customizable stuffy stuff.
Well, sign me up, Buttercup! I’m here for that! Let’s schedule all the things! 🎉
Now, maybe you’re already using it, and I’m just late to the party. (I didn’t even know there was a party! 😂)
Maybe you’re reading this and saying:
“Well, duhhh, Kim! Everyone knows that!”
Well, I didn’t know that. And I can’t be the only one who’s overlooked these features.
Ultimately, this goes to mindset. A lot of our favorite tools are changing in ways we didn’t even realize, and are worth another look. They’re worth asking:
Are we leveraging everything we can in the things we already pay for?
So, I recorded this quick vid to share what I found, and encourage you to play with it if you already subscribe to Notion AI. Having custom calendars in Notion that can ride on top of Google without having to hand type every freaking thing in there is great. And there may be some cool way to use Gemini’s agents to do that as well, I need to play with that more but I digress! It’s Easter, time to go do family things!
Have a wonderful and blessed Easter Sunday!
Note: There’s a lot of personal stuffy stuff in this video, which is why I made the video in this post paid, but kept the text free. I’d rather not blast my schedule and everything else out to the entire universe! 😄
